Overview

Berwick-upon-Tweed television relay station is a low-power television and FM radio relay transmitter of Chatton, covering Berwick-upon-Tweed, Tweedmouth and Spittal, Northumberland. It is owned and operated by Arqiva.

History

It opened alongside or shortly after the Chatton transmitter station, both being after UHF television began in 1964 since it never broadcast in VHF TV. Both stations well established by the end of the Cold War.
