Guy wires pose a fatal threat to birds, who often circle the tower lights at night.
The phenomena[]
A bird strike is when a flying bird hits an aircraft causing important damage to it's structure. This phenomenon is obviously more common to see during high speed flying, but in can also happen in the ground when a bird is suctioned by an engine, especially with a jet engine.
Cars, speed boats, jet skis and cars have been hit at time as well. Birds also have on occasion flown in to trees, windows, tower blocks radio masts, wind turbes and powerlines.
