The treaty[]
It is a multilateral Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty (CTBT) agreement signed by the US, CIS, UK, and 90 non-nuclear-weapon states would ban any and all nuclear powers between 1994 and 1996 that is intended to prohibit all nuclear weapon test explosions and all other nuclear explosions in all environments, for military or civilian purposes. It was adopted by the United Nations General Assembly on 10 September 1996, but it has not entered into force due to the non-ratification of 8 specific states. The states that need to take further action for the treaty to legally enter into force: China, Egypt, India, Iran, Israel, North Korea, Pakistan and United States.
Its opponents[]
Non-signatory states[]
- Bhutan
- Cuba
- Dominica
- India
- Mauritius
- North Korea
- Pakistan
- Saudi Arabia
- Somalia
- South Sudan
- Syria
- Tonga
- Tuvalu
- Palestine
Note that some have a reason- remote places like Tuvalu may not think it's reinvent to them, some like Syria have a civil war and both India and Pakistan wish to have the right to attack each other after agreeing not to attack the rest of the world. North Korea is uniquely warwaky and will probably never join it.
Not ratified[]
- Angola
- China
- Comoros
- Egypt
- Equatorial Guinea
- Gambia
- Iran
- Israel
- Myanmar
- Nepal
- Papua New Guinea
- São Tomé and Príncipe

These states that need to take further legal and diplomatic action for the treaty to legally enter into force: China, Egypt, India, Iran, Israel, North Korea, Pakistan and United States.
