Hotels and lodging[]
Fiji is a multiracial and multicultural nation. It was colonized by the English in the 1800s with the signing of the Deed of Cession.
There are two main islands and smaller islands that are part of the over 300 islands in the Fiji group. It has a tropical climate and sits on the International Dateline. With the abundance of beautiful island resorts and mainland hotels, tourism has become Fiji's largest foreign exchange earner.
The main tourist locations are on the western part of the main island of Viti Levu and islands known as the Mamanucas and Yasawa Islands. There are other hotels and lodging on the southern and central part of the main island with others on the second largest island of Vanua Levu and the third largest island of Taveuni.
Hotels and lodging range from backpackers to 5-star accomodations. Of the most famous resorts in Fiji are the Sheration, Radisson and Wyndham Resorts. These are all located on the tourism hub of Denarau Island.
