The strict and precise observance by all servicemen of the order and rules established by laws and military regulations to cause reasonable initiative, zeal, bravery, orderliness and distinction in service during a combat situation.

All though all armed forces have military discipline, its nature varies in different armies depending on the social structure and type of regime of the state practicing it. Formal punishments like extra duties and loss of leave time, jail, humiliation in front of others, being kicked out of the military, bullying, hateful shouting, mide games are used to hold discipline.

The USA and to the less extent play the shouting bully who likes playing mind games, The Soviets and Nazis used a lot of political idoctriaton as well and the Russians' reported use a lot of physical violence.
