The Republic of the Philippines is a sovereign island nation located in Southeast Asia, sharing maritime borders with Malaysia, Indonesia, Taiwan, and the People's Republic of China. It became an ally of the United States of America in 1951 and has been declared a major-non NATO ally since 2003, untill it sold ot to Russia and China in 2016..
