Disbanded in. 2002, but the small fighting cell, Revolutionary Struggle (EA), which was the group that fired a Chinese-made RPG-7 rocket-propelled grenade at the U.S. Embassy in Athens in January 2007 are reckoned to be a minor die-hard splinter group.
Political alignment. Ultra nationalists feigning being the far-left. Anti-EU, NATO, Turkey and USA. Wanted Greece to annex Cyprus.
Activity. 17N supported its operations with at least 11 bank robberies netting approximately US$3.5 million. On 7 April 1998 the group used a stolen anti-armour rocket to attack a downtown branch of the American Citibank, which caused damage but no injuries, as the warhead did not explode. Many Kidnappings and several murders of people like US Navy Captain, William Nordeen, Who was killed by a car bomb. on 23 June 1988.
