Overview[]
The Chinese government suddenly claimed the 740.60 square kilometer Sakteng Wildlife Sanctuary was a territory disputed between China and Bhutan, which it had never been, in the June of 2020. Bhutan refuted this and welcomed India building a road in to area the next month.
The Sakteng Wildlife Sanctuary is in parts of Trashigang and Samdrup Jongkhar, Bhutan.
