United Nations Security Council Resolution 157, adopted on September 14, 1960, after they had realised that the Security Council was becoming too politically dived on the issue to carry out it's primary responsibility for the maintenance of international peace and security, so they decided to call an emergency special session of the General Assembly to make appropriate recommendations on resolving the situation in the DRC for them.
