United Nations Security Council Resolution 178, adopted unanimously on April 24, 1963, after hearing of violations of Senegalese territory by Portuguese military forces from Portuguese Guinea. It also raised the recent incident at Bouniak in Senegal. Portugal was to to cease and desist from violating the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Senegal, and to "scrupulously respect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Senegal". It was pat of the Portuguese Colonial War.
