United Nations Security Council Resolution 251, adopted unanimously on May 2, 1968, slammed Israel for holding a military (independence day) parade in Jerusalem in disregard of United Nations Security Council Resolution 250. It had added increasing anger among Arabs and helped aggravate the Arab–Israeli conflict.
